Group 11 - Results All hematology parameters are normal. All urinalysis values were within normal limits. The orthopedic exam indicated crepitation in the metacarpus in the instability site suggesting fracture. There is a limited range of motion in the metacarpal-phalangeal joint which indicates extensor tendon contracture. The tight bands of tissue palpated connecting the raised toes to tissue on dorsum of the foot also indicate extensor tendon contracture. Radiographs showed a distal diaphyseal fracture of the left metacarpus, which may be oblique or spiral in nature. There is significant bony proliferation around the proximal fragment, however the proliferation does not extend between the two fragments. Therefore, there is a non-union of the bone.
