Previous treatment Rimadyl - anti-inflammatory drug to manage pain; 
prior dosing hasn't alleviated the problem  this might be a critical 
issue when we consider treatment, but if we are limited by cost 
constraints, there may be no alternative..

Worse in morning - inactivity could lead to stiffness of joint
Worse after exercise - use can exacerbate inflammation and pain of 
joint


The following we thought were critical in localizing the area and 
extent of the 
lameness:  these signs are all abnormal
- awkward gait
- lame in hind legs, right worse
- grade 1/4 lameness, right hind
- positive ortalani, left hind-indicator of joint laxity, maybe 
possible bone malformation so that joint doesn't fit together 
correctly.  Shallow acetabulum could allow femoral head to slide out 
of position easily 
- too painful for ortalani, right hind-would sedation help and 
repeat the test?
- hip ROM reduced to 100 degrees-what is normal ROM? (LI)
- pain more obvious in extension
