This Concept Map, created with IHMC CmapTools, has information related to: Economic Divide, Economic Divide Living Cost are outrageous This article is interesting because it brings up an unique problem that occurs when cities have such large, profitable companies, such as these tech companies. There is a lot of money being earned by employees, which has driven up costs of livng in cities like San Francisco. It has gotten to the point where a teacher can barely afford a years rent with their full teaching salaries. My friend's sister just had to make the move to Oakland because of the ridiculous cost of rent. I thought the example given in the article of the 25 year old women crying in her bathtub was very powerful. If you work fulltime, you should be able to live a life where you are not forced to eat junk food and can comfortably afford to live (I feel like I am quoting Bernie Sanders).
