This Concept Map, created with IHMC CmapTools, has information related to: IVRA CAB, DEPENDING ON WEIGHT OF COW Procedure is as follows 1. Restrain the animal. 2. Estimate weight and calculate toxic drug level. 3. Ensure less than half toxic level used in total on animal and then in a syringe take up necessary volume of 2% lidocaine. 4. Clip hairs and clean over a convenient prominent superficial limb vein distal to where the tourniquet will be placed. 5. Place and tighten rubber tube torniquet tightly over vein. 6. Insert a needle (19 gauge) into the vein, directed distally. 7. Aspirate blood to confirm that the needle is properly positioned within the vein. 8. Inject an appropriate amount of local anaesthetic solution. 9. Withdraw the needle and massage the injection site for a few seconds to prevent haematoma formation. 10. Check after ten minutes whether full analgesia has been achieved. 11.
