Shear Vorticity

Shear vorticity is the spin imparted to parcels of
air due to parcels moving at different rates of
speed. As an example, if air in the center of the
jet stream is moving at 150kts and air to the right
and left is moving more slowly, cyclonic spin will
occur to the left and anticyclonic spin will occur
to the right.
