Dry Lines

A dry line is a very narrow area where there is
an extreme change in moisture along a horizontal
extent. Dew point temperatures may drop along
dry lines by as much as 16 degrees F per Km.

Dry lines may give rise to severe thunderstorms.
They occur most frequently in the spring and early 
summer in the western parts of Texas, Oklahoma 
and Kansas. Dry Lines are sometimes called dew-point
fronts.
