Mesoscale Convective Complex (MCC) MCCs are very large, persistent and active convective weather systems that present significant hazard to aviation. They are capable of producing locally heavy rainfall, flash floos, tornadoes, hail, high winds and lightning. They are nearly circular, which distinguishes them from squall lines. They have average lifetimes of 12 hours or more and average diameters of 600 Km. MCCs have four stages: - Genesis - Development - Maturation - Dissipation
