Grave's Disease

Grave's Disease is the most common cause of hyperthroidism, and is characterized by autoantibodies (Tryrotropin receptor antibody or TRAb) targeted against thyrotropin receptors on the thyroid gland.  The autoantibodies bind to these receptors and cause trigger unregulated production of thyroid hormones, namely T4 (thyroxine).
