Specialty Exams Results 1. Sedated Orthopedic Examination: _ A positive Ortolani sign was found bilaterally. An Ortolani sign tests hip laxity. A positive sign is a snap as the head of the femur moves back into the acetabulum after being moved to the rim of the acetabulum. _ The range of motion was decreased to about 130 degrees in both hip joints. _ The cranial drawer was negative bilaterally. This indicates that there is no torn cruciate ligament. _ No crepitation or joint instability was foundÑruleout fractures and joint mice. 2. Radiographic Examination: Standard hip-extended ventrodorsal and lateral views were taken and reviewed for evidence of subluxation and osteoarthritis. _ There is bilateral subluxation of the femoral head with shallow acetabulum (acetabular edge encloses less than half of the femoral head) and a thickened femoral head. _ The acetabulum and femoral head have undergone advanced remodeling. Osteophytes are forming on the femoral neck and head as well as on the cranial effective acetabular margin.
