Hypothesis 1ÑHind limb fracture due to trauma The first hypothesis is hind limb fracture due to trauma. History of trauma indicates the possibility of this hypothesis. One sign that points to hind limb fractures is non-weight bearing lameness in both hind limbs. Another sign is instability in the right tibia discovered on palpation. The tibia does not seem to be continuous in the midshaft area. Also there appears to be bone discontinuity of the left proximal femur. Abnormal movement and occasional crepitation support this. In addition, both the right and left hind limbs are swollen distal to the stifle, indicating inflammation possibly due to fractures.
