Pain resolved within a month initiallyÑpartially healed injury 5. 6 months later she was showing pain againÑpossible reinjury with further damage 6. young, playfulÑpredisposes to reinjury Physical Exam 1. medial buttressingÑbodyÕs attempt to reinforce unstable joint 2. cranial draw sign is negativeÑdoes not rule out ccl, must repeat and reassess under anesthesia 3. patella lactated to medial side in extensionÑpatellar subluxation 4. with flexion returns to trochlear grooveÑlow grade (II) luxation 5. No abnormalities palpate in hip joint, long bone or muscleÑlocalizes area to stifle 6. On palpation of left leg, pain response when cranial drawer sign testedÑleft leg compensating for loss of function in right leg (extra weight on left leg due to right leg lameness) or subluxation on this side too --Insignificant 1. Pain on flexion of tail Ðmost dogs donÕt like when tail picked up 2. Pain on direct pressure to spine and lumbo-sacral joint--idiopathic
