Explanation of facts: Hypothesis 1: Hindlimb fracture due to trauma 1.Dog was HBC 2.Non weight bearing in the hind end 3. Profuse swelling of both hindlimbs 4. Palpation of right tibia showed instability 5. Femur appears to damaged as well, evidenced by the abnormal movement and crepitation Hypothesis 2: Spinal injury/peripheral nerve injury 1. Non weight bearing on hind limbs 2. Reflex responses are difficult to evaluate because the responses are inconsistent and not repetitive 3. Motor function appears to be present in both the hind legs and tail, BUT weight bearing has not been attempted 4. The source of the abnormality could not be precisely localized to the femur, hip joint or pelvis Hypothesis 3: Soft tissue damage 1. Non weight bearing on both hind limbs 2. Theright hind leg is swollen distal to the stifle 3. The upper left hind leg is very swollen with crepitation 4. There is diffuse sc fluid accumulation
