Plan of Action

Bloodwork needs to be performed to determine systemic or local infection and 
inflammation (fibrinogen levels) or other potential problems.

Assuming money allows, lateral and AP radiographs of the left metacarpal and 
metacarpal/phalangeal joint should be performed to determine fracture healing. Regional 
nerve blocks could be performed; however, these are not routinely used in ruminants 
because the reason for the lameness is usually easy to identify.
