Possible nerve block to further localize injury

Radiographs of fetlock joint to determine if any fracture. Lateral-medial view, 
flexed 
lateral-medial view

Ultrasound of ligaments and tendons around fetlock. Use transducer with 
frequency of 
7.5 megahertz or greater.

Baseline bloodwork  to check for infection.

Possible arthrocentesis to check for infectious causes if other tests are 
inconclusive
