Diagnosis: Based on the results from the clinical pathology, this dog is likely recovering from a hemmorhagic event. His PCV is 22%, which is very low. This is likely a regenerative anemia, but we do not have any data, such as a reticulocyte count, or a previous PCV to determine whether there is continued bleeding or to make sure that the dog's bone marrow is responding appropriately. The hyperglycemia is likely a result of the stress of the accident and the extended hospital stay. The hyponatremia and hypochloridemia are likely due to the fluids that the dog is on. The trace hematuria is due to traumatic injury somewhere in the urogenital tract and should clear up within a few days. The radiographs indicate a compound fracture (4 bone fragments) of the left femur, and a compound fracture with several fragments of the right tibia. The right fibula is also fractured. The radiographs are of poor quality and further damage, such as capsular swelling to evaluate the left stifle joint could not be assessed.
