Lame in hind legs - bilateral hindlimb lameness 9 month old dog Rottweiler - young dog, large breed (developmental) awkward gait a few weeks ago - persistent recent problem right leg worse than left worse after non-use for long periods of time and exercise didn't respond to Rimadyl (only gave Rimadyl when painful - used as treatment) no trauma (no traumatic etiology) flea and heartworm treatment usually walked on leash - indoor dog (decreases risk of unknown trauma) disproportionate amount of weight on forelegs (compensatory) grade 1/4 lameness no muscle pain or atrophy no long bone fractures (no traumatic injury) no neurological deficits normal hock and stifle (tibial-tarsal joint and femoral-tibial joint intact) no cranial drawer sign - cruciate ligament intact no joint effusion - limits range of motion hip joints painful - more on right and extension (localization on coxofemoral joint) hip ROM reduced to 100 degress Ortelani sign positive on left hip
