Hypothesis 1 Inflammation/immune-mediated Immune-mediated: allergies- these may be caused by an immune mediated reaction causing the allergies and spreading to the joints. Immune reaction now in joints, leading to degenerative changes Infection: The dog has tarter. Bacteria could have accumulated in the mouth, than spread through an injury in the oral cavity, to the blood, and finally settled out in the joints. Need to see radiographs to see if there is inflammation present. Take a CBC to check the leukogram.
