Motion Sickness
Motion sickness occurs because of the vestibular system. The processing of this system can result in false perceptions of body movement or of movement of the environment. This happens when there is a mismatch between the information processed by the visual system and the information processed by the vestibular system. The symptoms of motion sickness are nausea and vomiting. In pilots, motion sickness causes a general degradation of performance and incapacitation. It may cause a change in perception of aircraft altitude and loss of control of the aircraft.
