Biliary Cirrhosis is
categorized into Primary and Secondary Biliary Cirrhosis; the former is
caused by autoantibodies and the latter being an aquired condition.
Primary Biliary Cirrhosis is caused by the autoimmune
destruction of the small bile ducts in the liver. The cause is
uknown. PBC is thought to be a type IV hypersenstivity reaction
because Cytotoxic T cells are found within the lesions.
