Requirement for large file transfer/temporary storage

I wondered what approaches institutions have taken with handling very large files in online submissions? This could be large audio or video files (where quality is key), or the project files for specific software packages such as Logic or Final Cut. Gigabytes in size basically.
 
We have the VLE. At present we’re using USB sticks. We also have OneDrive – I wonder if that’s a possible solution?
